Description
Our monofloral thyme honey is produced from wild thyme
bushes that grow in the nearby mountains of Central
Otagos on the South Island: Each year, from late October
onwards, countless white and purple flowers welcome
spring on New Zealand’s mountainsides. Outside of the
Mediterranean region, this is the only place where noncultivated
herbs grow in such large quantities, allowing
an almost completely pure type of honey to be produced.
Sweet, fresh and aromatic: Our thyme honey captivates
the senses with its intense aroma and incomparable
fragrance of the essential thyme blossom oils. The flavour
ranges from herbal and sweet to slightly tangy, aromatic
notes and can be enjoyed in its own right or used
in various recipes. There are no limits as to how it can be
used: in sauces, marinades or to bring salads to life – this
honey adds a special touch to many different dishes.
